AG's First meet

AG Conducted its first official meet on July 3rd. The meeting held at Besant nagar, Chennai by 6.00 pm and discussion lasted till 8.00pm.Few important decisions have been taken regarding registering the group as trust , having a Tamil name for trust, deciding on the objectives of the trust, methodology to be followed for proper functioning, team separation and steps to make the group bigger.We also had a discussion with the trustee of VAZHAI NGO who really gave very valuable suggestions for better functioning and we felt very thankful for their suggestions and also in future it has been decided to join hands with Vazhai for some social activities.

After the meeting, members spend some time with AVVAI orphanage in the same locality and group have sponsored dinner for those students.

AG- 13k donated for prakash fees

Hi Altruists,

Today AG has transferred a sum of Rs.13000 to PRAKASH KUMAR for his AIEEE counseling fees.As we told earlier Prakash kumar is a student from Bihar who got 80% in CBSE syllabus and have attended AIEEE counseling previously.It was asked to pay Rs.25000 as an initial fees and this was shared by our group AG and Blessing missions of India. His yearly educational fees will be shared in a similar way between AG & Blessing missions until he gets his educational loan sanctioned which he applied for.

Moving to next phase

Dear Altruists,

It is with a happy note that I am drafting this. We together as Altruists have succeeded in collecting a total of 28459INR till date. This amounts to an average of 5000INR per month.

With this as our estimate we have decided to step into the next phase of making AG a full fledged group to extend our helping hands to the not so privileged group of students.

As the first step towards achieving this we intend to legally register AG by end of July. The Advisory board and the trustees shall soon be intimated and also made available in the blog. Next we are in the process of deciding on deserving candidates for sponsoring. We have received 6 requests and have narrowed down to two candidates to start our sponsors with.

The details are as below:

1. Prakash Kumar (80% in CBSE board) has attended AIEEE counseling.

His fee is to be shared by AG and Blessing missions of India NGO

2. AKILA who is to join AVS Arts & Science College by July. Her yearly fees will be ~12000INR

AG's First Donation

15th Febraury 2010 - After the successful launch of Altruist's Group on Febraury AG as a first step donated a small amount of Rs.500 for a BCA student.This transaction was done through a mediator from a known Social group "Blessing India Mission".

We are happy to say that within one month time of AG's birth 27 members are already there who are contributing for the welfare of others. I would like to take this time for thanking them as they have voluntarily came forward to join our group and donated generously.As it is not possible to mention everyone's name here let me thank the Altruist's Group member's as a whole..


AG have planned to sponsor a student by end of may and we are in process of collecting information about students who are really good in studies but couldn't.The students details will shortly be published as post and based on suggestion from members we will select anyone from that for sponsoring...
